Hi! I’m Chelsea

I’m a painter and sculptor in Massachusetts. My work focuses on brushstroke, light, and shadow, usually with a focus on organic subjects such as animals and landscapes.

My paintings are layers of contrasting colors to build depth until the eventual subject matter is created. I start my foggy artworks with layers of acrylic and finish off with thin, wispy layers of oil paint. I choose to create work on wooden surfaces, as the smoothness best lends itself to the clean, untextured and precise marks that evolve into my abstracted-yet-representational work.
